Why it matters what we do?

The sole purpose of Donum Vitae is to acquire and distribute essential disposable durable medical supplies, over the counter medication, first aid, tactical IFAC and hygiene products directly to Ukraine.

Currently hospitals and clinics that don’t focus on military casualties are not getting much funding or support. There are patients that have been having chronical illnesses and requiring medical supplies on the daily basis. Patients with urostomy and colostomy need special bags for their stomas, and without one they are risking getting infection. Pediatric departments, OBGYN are in a huge need of over-the-counter painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication. Fever over 104 F is life-threatening for young kids.  ICU departments and ambulances that are working in a green zone (war safe zones) are not in priority for receiving humanitarian medical aid, but they still need supplies such as first aid kits, hemostatic products, airbags, IV catheters and blood transfusion kits. Unfortunately, Ukraine is a poor country and even before war Ukrainian ambulances were not set up properly, in some cases lacking basic medication and equipment. Right now during the war a lot of ambulances do not have basic antibiotics and aspirin in their kits. This list can go on for every medical specialty field in Ukraine.

In addition to that many elderly patients and people with disabilities are not able to get out of their houses to receive supplies that are distributed by various humanitarian aids as all distribution is done in the specific hubs or areas.  Those hubs are usually located in big urban cities and a large number of elderly population actually live in smaller villages.

We have our volunteers in Ukraine deliver needed supplies to specific individuals at their homes. Supplies are being shipped to Ukraine to our network of volunteers who then distribute the supplies among the specific clinics, hospitals, and individuals.
